Sarah Herman, principal of Our Sisters School in New Bedford, MA.  Sarah was in one of the first cohorts of Teach for America in the 1990s.  She taught in New York City and Boston public schools, earned her teaching credential at Bank Street College of Education and then earned her principal’s certification from Harvard School of Education.  She has been a principal at OSS for almost ten years.  She is going to give us a 45 minute lesson on proactive and reactive strategies for classroom management, how to set up for success, what to do if that doesn’t work, and talk about engagement and redirection.
Shira Sender, Chief Learning Officer for ShalomLearning.  Shira will spend 20 minutes refreshing us on best practices for using the Torah Aura “Learn to Read” and “Tefilah” lessons when working with students 1:1.  She promises tricks and tips for making it go well, how to make it fun, how to get students to do the homework assignments, etc.
